I am constantly looking for healthy breakfast ideas because I feel breakfast is my greatest failure. Either skip it or I grab something unhealthy from a fast food restaurant. Breakfast has the ability to change my entire day. If I start the day with a Bojangles breakfast bowl, I feel my whole day is shot and I make horrible choices all day. However, if I start the day with this healthy breakfast toast, I feel mentally better and also fuller so I’m not binging on lunch which leads to throwing all my progress away by dinner time. So I found this recipe, made it my own, and have been eating it daily and I absolutely love it.
Healthy Breakfast Toast
1 slice wheat bread with seeds (I like Dave’s Killer Bread Powerseed)
1 Tablespoons SunButter
1 Tablespoon Chia Seeds
1 Sliced banana or other fruit of your choice
I’ve found that toasting the bread first and then layering in the following order: toast, sunbutter, chia,, and then fruit – helps all the ingredients stay together and it’s a lot prettier that way too.
I absolutely love it. Experiment with different breads and spreads to change it up but this will definitely be a satisfying treat for you!
